Joy Lanzano M.A.
Clinical Approach/Therapeutic Orientation:
My foundational approach to psychotherapy is present moment, body centered, based upon Gestalt therapy techniques, and will include: Mindfulness awareness practices, Humanistic psychotherapy, and Applied Existential Psychotherapy. I draw upon these therapeutic approaches to tailor what treatment best fits my client’s needs. My focus is on relationship, whether with oneself or other.
For 7 years, I have been a student of the Ridhwan School, (the Diamond Approach to inner work), that integrates depth psychology with meditation and spiritual inquiry to deepen contact with our true nature and personal essence (www.ridhwan.org). This also forms a basis of my work.
My Educational Background: I hold a Bachelor of Arts degree in Biology and Secondary Education, and a Master of Arts degree in Educational Technology. I am currently beginning my final year of a three-year Masters program in Transpersonal Counseling Psychology from Naropa University in Boulder, Colorado to be completed in May of 2012.
