After a distinguished thirty-year career as a teacher of teachers and children, Liz changed directions and is now completing an Advanced Certificate in Gestalt Studies at the Boulder Psychotherapy Institute. She is a certified Enneagram facilitator, and completed the three-part training with Don Richard Riso, Russ Hudson, Gayle Scott and others. She has completed BrainSpotting,Part I, with David Grand and Lisa Schwarz, a specific technique that can help release the stress and anxiety associated with overwhelming life events. She has also studied Emotional Freedom Technique, or EFT.
Liz is deeply committed to creating space for clients to unfold at their own pace and in their own way. Just as she nourished and welcomed the creativity of students in her music classroom, Liz invites her clients into a creative partnership in which therapist and client jointly explore many avenues towards self-discovery and healing.
In 2003, Liz earned certification as a Therapeutic Harp Practitioner, and delivers the healing sound of the Celtic harp to patients at home, hospital or hospice. Studies have demonstrated that live harp music at the bedside can:
• help reduce the amount of pain medication patients require.
• promote and support deep, rhythmic breathing and more restful sleep.
• help mitigate the debilitating effects of sickroom stresses.
• support the emotional health and immediate physical well-being of caregivers and family members, especially at the time of death.
The Enneagram - Liz is available to teach workshops related to the Enneagram to business, church, or school groups, and especially to teachers. Fees negotiable.
