Recommend This Therapist

Celia has integrated compassionate and life-changing approaches to therapy throughout her career. "Models" have come and gone in the world of psychotherapy, but there have been standouts that speak to the natural ability to heal that we all carry within. These models understand that your own innate wisdom, when accessed, can guide you to the solutions and healing that are individually yours. The ethic of  accessing and honoring your unique healing path and your own distinct gifts is central to the therapy Celia offers.

Celia is a certified  Somatic Experiencing Practitioner (SEP).  In Somatic Experiencing (SE), the body's ability to discover it's own paths of healing is honored. Traumatic imprints are released through careful presence and loving awareness of felt sense in the body. SE is an approach that resolves trauma, and allows one to let go of the pain and blocks that hamper a full range of experience. It is an extremely effective, gentle path to vitality.

Based on her years of work in  Self Relations Therapy , Celia fluidly balances attention to  the mind , or thinking self;   the body , or sensing self; and the 'field' , or broad energies such as nature and spirit. The Self-Relations approach honors the whole person, and brings resources from all these parts of the self into play.

Celia is also a Certified Ericksonian Hypnotherapist.  Hypnosis brings  an appreciation of the power of the unconscious mind and the transformative effect of small shifts of awareness. This approach reminds us that within every problem there lies a solution. In its most naturalistic form, it allows clients to tap into a deep core of guidance within, and make lasting changes in life.   Lovingkindness Meditation and other mindful approaches bring an essential quality of heart and loving witnessing to all the work Celia brings into therapy sessions. Heartful spirit always has a place in the interactions and guidance that Celia offers, as does the calming effect of meditative awareness.

Celia has studied a unique approach called "SpiritSong", and is a Certified SpiritSong Teacher . SpiritSong is a practice allowing one's true, resonant voice to come through intuitively and naturally. Celia has a monthly circle for women called "MoonSong", where women gather in ritual space to honor the sacred feminine within. Sharing in chant, SpiritSong, and council, a deep wisdom is uncovered.  Individual SpiritSong can also be scheduled with Celia, and is a powerful tool in the healing process.

For all her clients - whether they are individuals, couples, or groups -  Celia tunes in to the voice of the soul: the self that remembers natural, innate aliveness. By dissolving old emotional blocks and garnering resources that strengthen spirit and courage, the steps ahead in life become welcome discoveries.
