Monthly Practice and Process Groups  

Text Box: Gestalt Practice Group:  Practice Group is a place to sharpen your understanding of principles, practice your skills and refine your techniques under the guidance of master therapists. Prior experience with Gestalt is required. In this group, you will: 
Practice Gestalt Therapy with other professionals and work on personal and professional issues in the safe context of a therapist group. 
Role-play clients to gain greater understanding of their issues and your own approach. 
Gain a deeper understanding of Gestalt Therapy through immediate processing of your interventions. 
Learn more about Gestalt methods for recognizing and working with boundary disturbances, transference and countertransference, nonverbal material, and process over content – and put this into practice. 
Gain greater facility in deepening work to profound emotional states and family of origin issues. 
Practice and master Gestalt dream work. 
Gain more creativity and ease in using Gestalt work.

Text Box: Gestalt Process Group: This is a place to improve your skills by experiencing and observing Gestalt work as practiced by master therapists. Though the group may feel therapeutic, it is not therapy and is intended as a learning experience. In Process Group, you will:
Experience Gestalt individual and group work in a safe learning environment with other therapists.
Gain a deep understanding of Gestalt process through personal experience.
Gain skills by observing the work of experienced practitioners.
 
Participate in process discussions, allowing a deeper understanding of experiential work.

Groups are led by Institute Directors, Betty Cannon, and Deborah Bowman, Senior Training Staff Jaylynne Chase-Jacobsen and Teaching Associate, Diane Doe. Space in these groups is limited – new members will be added as space opens up. New groups will be formed as interest arises. Cost is $60 per three-hour session.
